On the morning of September 8th I awoke in Utah in a tiny hotel not far from Bryce Canyon, where I intended to film next. I had two amazing days of filming in two of the most jaw-dropping locations I had ever seen in my life, and I met some amazing friends while performing live and filming. When I awoke that morning with a feeling of dread and heaviness like a lead weight in my gut it wasn't logical. I called home and all was well with my husband and children. It was. So I prayed and in the midst of my prayer, I felt like I should look at the news. The first news item was an article announcing that Biden would be announcing a new 'six pronged approach' to COVID...my heart began to beat hard....was this this executive order we had been watching for with trepidation?? I prayed again and heard two simple words....Go Home. I was confused and a bit stubborn, the truth is, in the flesh, I didn't want to go home! I called my husband again and talked with him about my feeling led to drop everything and go home. Now 'Home' for me is Belize, so with a deep sadness for the truncating of this amazing journey, and yet a peace that The Father was working something out for me, I began cancelling all my camping reservations, my flights to Seattle and back and got a flight out of Phoenix that would leave that evening (the 8th) and arrive the following morning (Sept 9th, 2021 Yom Teruah) I purchased flights from Miami to Belize for the day after Yom Teruah (the 10th) so that our family would be together for Yom Teruah in Sopchoppy, before going home to Belize. But YEHOVAH had another plan. I got back to my home and family in Sopchoppy only 5 minutes before my Father passed away in an automobile accident. I received the news an hour later. I dropped to my knees. I was in total disbelief! In many ways, I still am. I spent the Days of Awe in awe....just not the way my flesh had anticipated. I spent those days caring for my Mother who contracted COVID 19 the day before my Father died. And I spent those days in mourning with my siblings and children. But YEHOVAH is greater! He has pulled us together as a family and continues to help us through day by day and bless us and keep us. One of the last things I said to my Father was the Priestly Blessing,
May YEHOVAH bless you and keep you; may YEHOVAH cause His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; may YEHOVAH lift up His countenance toward you and give you peace.’ And so I placed my Father's Name Upon Him, all glory to YEHOVAH!

In case you didn't read our update, plans changed. The RV had a series of mechanical issues, money was running tight, the political atmosphere was growing more and more brittle by the day leaving me and my husband deeply concerned we may find ourselves unable to return to Belize if Biden mandates the Jab for flights in and out (inevitably land borders would be only a stroke behind) So after a lot of discussion and a lot of prayer and more discussion and more prayer, we decided I would just wing it alone, literally. Take three flights in 15 days drive 4-8 hours every morning and get some incredible footage for these Psalms. But once the tickets were booked I got serious cold feet. I realized for the last 20 years raising 7 kids with Forest....I had NEVER been alone. Literally NEVER! So this is a huge undertaking for me. Also, since I will be flying I will not have the luxury of carrying my glock.... but that's okay, it's just a backup to help YEHOVAH help me....He's got my back with or without it, I know that! So that's what brought me to this next entry....
Okay, it's the desert, I knew it would be hot.... it I thought deserts, lacing those fluffy blankets of humidity we have on the East Coast, cooled quickly at night....so I ore my fluffy jacket on the flight (planes are always cold!) and when we touched down in Phoenix at what was 10:45 PM there (but 1:45 AM on my own internal east coast clock) I thought nothing of it as I cruised out to the curb to find the rental car shuttle. It was like walking from a refrigerator into an oven! Well at least with the dry air it was like baking rather than basting, but that was a surprise for me....hoping it is cooler on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon where I will be camping tonight! Speaking of which I have to make tracks! I have a 5 hour drive! Sending love to all! You can follow me on Instagram for some prettier photos coming soon, https://www.instagram.com/ajajade777/ but in the meanwhile, here is the Phoenix sunrise I snapped out of my hotel window this morning! We reached a little town named Bagdad and stopped for gas. The RV wouldn't turn over.... well no worries, we hooked up the jumper cables....no luck. Upon further examination we realized the underlying issue was the alternator was missing its belt! We had a special comprehensive policy with all the frills, that we had purchased just in case of something like this... only to find out that when we called in for the included 'roadside assistance' they told us they couldn't have us towed until MONDAY! (NOTE: NEVER BUY PROGRESSIVE AUTO INSURANCE!)We were literally stuck at a gas pump! This was crazy, well we are do it yourself kind of people and we were not about to just spend the night at a gas station! So we drove to Autozone, bought a battery popped it in and we were mobile again, they assured us our Emergency Expense coverage would reimburse us for our hotel costs so we told them we would have it towed from a hotel close by, and we limped over there. AFTER we checked in, moved all our stuff and settled the kids in I checked my phone messages. GOOD NEWS! They were sending a tow truck already. I called in to confirm its arrival time....they put me on hold then said they couldn't get ahold of the Tow Provider, and offered to rearrange it for in the morning. It was already nearly midnite so I obliged. Then I checked in on the Hebrew Roots Chat Server only to find out there was a huge tropical Storm which was being projected to be a CAT 4/5 barreling down directly on New Orleans! So THAT's why we had to be broke down in Bagdad! If we had made it to our destination on Lake Pontchatrain we would have gotten hit head in with IDA's fury! As it turned out The Most High had us rest there in a hotel for Shabbat, I was able to participate intermittently in the Aviv LiveStream Shabbat Group I found via A Rood Awakening! and despite the non co-operational the Insurance company's 'roadside assistance' The Most High worked it out and got us ready to roll by Sunday morning, the question then was just....which way to roll...
Our Journey has been a long time in coming. When we first got married my hubby promised to take me out west one day to see the Redwoods...but instead we headed south to Belize for a couple decades! When the Father first inspired this plan to record and share Psalms against some of our Countries most stunning vistas, I saw it as a way to fulfill that long held dream while glorifying the Father with the Hebrew Psalms! I am a hopeless optimist so despite the many obvious hurdles I believed with absolute faith we could do it, maybe ina week or two. That was back in July.....
I hoped to pack up, sell our extra chickens, automate their coop so our neighbors could do a 1x per week feeding and freshening of the sleeping coop, and automate the feeding of the fish and cats. I figured it couldn't take that long to button things up.....well it took about two weeks...and then came the hang ups. We bought a fire rescue ambulance about two years ago when we came and spent 8 months here during the recovery from Forest's spinal surgery. It is the prepper mobile every prepper dreams of. A 1986 Chevy chassis equipped with a hulking steel box on duallys with a winch in front, a 12 volt electrical system, PTO outlet, an Onan generator, and enough compartments to store a kid in each one (just kidding, but there are a lot of outer compartments!) At the time it made a perfect Utz Chips delivery truck and we faithfully stocked all the shelves in Boone, NC with chips having been convinced by our boss it was a honey job....it was anything but....50 hour weeks no days off (other than Shabbat and that always put us behind) and we never cleared the 1500 a week he promised we would make easily....and that was with three of us working those hours! We decided when we quit we would turn it into a camper stocked with a Full mobile camp we could take anywhere....Anyway, fast forward to a month ago and it seemed like we would finally be able to do it! Then we realized it had sat in storage for a year while we were in Belize and because of the way the laws are in the US, it's vin number was flagged and could not be insured, all because we didn't return the stupid license plate! It was going to take 30 days after surrendering the plates to be able to relicense it...in retrospect that is what we should have done but hindsight is 20/20 so, what we did instead is bought a 1983 Chevy Tioga camper planning to gut it out and reupholster and panel the inside. Piece of cake! Ha, it took weeks and when it was finally ready to hit the road (we thought) we decided to change the brakes just in case....first Forest tried to do it himself, but the hoses were seized on so then we tried to hire someone....which was a mistake, he broke the caliper pin on the caliper Forest had changed...but in the end we successfully changed the front pads, calipers, and hoses ourselves (having never messed with brake pads in our lives! An RV guy assured us the electrical and propane systems were in great shape (after removing the back wired extension cord with two plug ends). A mechanic changed the oil, checked the fluids and told us it was mechanically in great shape! We finally took to the open road on August 27th. The trip had a few setbacks but we were rolling. It all went relatively well...and then we hit our first traffic jam near Defuniak Springs it was a LOOOONG TRAFFIC JAM...several hours later we were on the open road once again but realized we wouldn't be able to make it to Fountainebleau State Park on Lake Ponchatrain, but we figured maybe we would be able to at least cross state lines into Mississippi...but YHVH had other plans..... |
